Cabo De Gata is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty and part of their conservation area, it is widely used by bird watchers and walkers and underwater sports enthusiasts it is the driest region on the Iberian peninsula. It has white sandy beaches yet is close to Almeria City with a regular bus service running from nearby bus stops. The hotel is in the town of Retamar where there are a number of hotels, shops, bars and restaurants. 

The 5*Cabo De Gata Beach Hotel & Spa it has two Olympic size swimming pools and  overlooks the El Toyo beach and Mediterranean Sea.

The rooms are very comfortable, large, 27sqm with sea views and terraces. All rooms have baths and separate walk-in showers. There are variety of restaurants serving tasty food, full facilities including a gym, and indoor pool as well as two outdoor pools  .

We are staying half board with a drinks package included with dinner (Wine, beer, soft drinks and water)

It is only a short walk to Alboran golf course where we will be playing our golf

Alboran is a flat walking course with a wide variety of holes and a very picturesque feel with the trees and sea views, we found it a very enjoyable, fair, playable and very easy walking course. Pull Trollys are available at 4€ a day. They have buggies for anyone with walking difficulties or the disabled

We have arranged for golf clubs to be left at the clubhouse on arrival for those who want to save carrying them back to the hotel each day. It is a short walk to the golf course however we will also run a minibus shuttle service from the hotel to the course for those of us with walking difficulties (or lazyitis) which will include me.

We have flights to Malaga from Newcastle and we are having a coach to take us to Cabo De Gata, via the new motorway. The journey takes a little over 2 hours. Our flight lands about mid morning so we will get up there early in the afternoon. We can always have a coffee stop on the way, coming back we will leave the hotel at about 08.00, so the times are fine.

From Leeds Bradford there is a flight direct to Almeria airport, Cabo De Gata is 10 minutes from Almeria airport and we have a transfer waiting there to take you to the hotel, coming back leaving the hotel at 10.00am
